Meet Ali,
Founder & Clinical Director
Ali's journey to Blue Sky Therapy has been one of both personal and professional growth, fueled by an unyielding curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning. After relocating from the West Coast over 25 years ago, Ali established deep roots in the Kawartha community while navigating the joys and challenges of family life and a diverse career path.
Initially trained in Kinesiology and Occupational Therapy, Ali transitioned into the world of counselling and psychotherapy and then Art therapy, recognizing a deep passion for supporting children, adolescents and adults using an integrated trauma informed Adlerian approach. She incorporates art therapy, OT, psychotherapy, and skills incorporating mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, EFT and other specialized modalities into her practice, continually evolving to meet the growing needs of her clients.
Currently pursuing her doctorate in counselling and psychotherapy, Ali is particularly fascinated by the dynamic interplay of social connection and loneliness. Her research explores how these forces shape our well-being and seeks to develop innovative approaches to fostering meaningful connections in an increasingly complex world.
Alison offers clinical supervision services, registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). She provides individual, dyadic, and group supervision tailored to the specific learning needs and clinical experiences of therapists and students in Ontario. Furthering her commitment to supporting clinicians nationally, Alison is also registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) as a clinical supervisor, meeting the professional and regulatory requirements to provide supervision across Canada
Alison is also an Associate professor at City University where she teaches several courses in their
M. Ed program for counselling including Theories of Counselling Therapy, Clinical skills & Practicum advisement and Child and Adolescent mental health.
Alison finds immense joy in extending her passion for healing and growth by welcoming new therapists to the Blue Sky team, creating a collaborative and supportive space where both clients and practitioners can thrive.
